No post this week.

Hey everybody.  I will not be getting a new craft posted this week.  My hubby is off work, & we are just going to spend the time doing stuff with the boys.

Zebra Print Purse

Here is a pic of the purse I made last week.

My family draws names for all the kids, & this year my youngest drew my cousin Kalia's name.  She is big into softball, & her traveling teams colors are red & black.  I was also told that she likes zebra print.  So when I found this fabric, it was just perfect.  It has a magnetic closure, and a zippered inside pocket.  She loved it by the way.  I also made a tote bag with a bunch of pockets for a cousin that loves to take his wrestling men everywhere, & a scarf with pockets and ruffles for another little cousin.  I unfortunately forgot to take a pic of the other 2 items.

This week I am working on getting my husband's coworker's jacket monogrammed with the company logo, an apron done for a breast cancer survivor, and a scarf for my son's teacher. (I will try to remember to take a pic this time.)  I'm also trying to finish up 2 quilts before Christmas.  Hopefully I can get it all done.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by.  One day I will try to write up a tutorial for what I make, but the holiday season is too busy to take time to stop & take pics.

Help Please

Ok, so if you happen across this, I need some help.  I have no clue how to add buttons or anything like that on here.  I also need some suggestions as to what else needs to be done on here.  Sorry I don't have a craft for you today.  I'm working on a purse, & will try to have it up by tomorrow.  Thanks in advance for any help.

Jingle Bell Wreath

So this week I redid our old worn out wreath.  Before our kids were big enough to really understand what was going on with Christmas, we had an elegant Blue & Silver theme.  Well, we never updated the wreath when we switched over to the multi-colored fun theme we have now.  I bought 2 containers of large jingle bells planning on making a new wreath out of them.  I started stringing them on the wire only to discover I didn't have enough bells.  So we then decided to take all the old blue & silver decorations off the old wreath, and put little bunches of bells on it.  I wish I would have thought to take a before pic.  (I'm talking this thing was 8 years old, and had seen better days)  I love the way it turned out.  Let me know what you think.  (Yet again, I will be so glad when I get a follower so I don't feel like I'm talking to myself.)  If you want to make one yourself, its really easy.  All you do is grab some wire, string 3 bells on a piece of it, & twist to make a bell bunch (make sure you leave a good 2 or 3in tail of wire).  then just start placing the bunches where you think looks nice, and wrap the wire tail around the frame.  Then add a bow & your done.  Easy as Pie.  Hope you enjoy.

Michelin Onesie

Fall Theme Cupcakes

sorry, it won't turn

These are the pics of the onesie I made from a mans shirt, and the cupcakes for my husband's coworker.  Again, they are taken with my cell phone, so excuse the crapyness. (Is that even a word?)

IDK

Ok, well I have still yet to take a pic of the onesie I made.  And I haven't done much in the past week as far as crafts go.  I have monogrammed 2 bags & my husbands work jacket, plus made some cupcakes for my son's school b-day party, a cake for his actual b-day party, & some cupcakes for one of my husband's coworkers.  So I have been pretty busy I guess.  Oh yeah, & I added some sleeves to one of baby M's onesies so he would have another decent winter shirt.  The boys & I will be working on a faux leaf garland for the Christmas tree this week.  We glittered some real leaves one day, and loved the look.  To bad real leaves dry out and crumble, it sure would make the project a lot easier.  I'll try to take pics of the process and post on here.  I don't really have a camera besides my phone at the moment, so the pics will not be the greatest.  Stay tuned for an update on the garland.

P.S.  Don't you just love how I talk to nobody?  I'm assuming at one point I might actually get a follower.

Trying this again

Well, I know I'm talking to nobody at this point, but I'm going to give this another try.  I probably won't be able to post more than once a week, but its something I want to do.  I'm going to try for 1 craft a week to post on here.  If anybody happens to come across this, and would like to give me some hints on how to get started, I would greatly appreciate it.  This week I made baby M a onesie out of a Michelin Man T-shirt.  it has to be one of my fav things I"ve ever made.  I'll try to get a pic up soon.  I'm working on 3 quilts, & 2 jackets at the moment, so hopefully I can get those knocked out soon.

Sorry there isn't much to report today.  I had a pretty uninteresting weekend.  I did go by & get a few really cute t-shirts to make into clothes for baby M, but I have to finish my order for a customer before I can start on anything for me.

B had the bright idea to put an air mattress on our bed last night because our regular mattress needs to be replaced.  I could not sleep on that thing.  It was so lumpy & made my back hurt.  Now I struggling to stay awake.

Hopefully I will have more to write on tomorrow.

Well, I did it. I finished baby M's handmade sleeper last night. I put the sleeves on the wrong sides, but oh well. The pattern didn't even say anything about which sleeve going on which side, so i'm not entirely to blame.

I found a pattern to make baby rompers from old t-shirts that I'm going to try soon. This has also given me great ideas for how to make other baby clothes from old t-shirts. I'm going to goodwill soon to stock up on some funky t-shirts. I will post step by step pics when i get started. I'm also going to try to make some cargo pants for baby M out of my son W's school pants that have holes in the knees.

I'm going to try to start just posting one craft item that I've done per day, & will try to make tutorials unless I can just give a link to the one I used. On my list of things to do is, more onesies & matching bibs, baby blankets, crochet baby quilts, custom burp cloth, custom wipes case, & the clothing mentioned above. Its a lot to do before baby M gets here the end of April, but hopefully I can get it done. I might also start posting some recipes that I've come up with, or tried. Either way, i'm going to try to make this a little more organized.

As promised, here are the pics of the onesies I customized & personalized. Thank you again to SamsterMommy for the great idea. After I get a few more made, I'm going to list them on etsy.com. I put them on craigslist, but I'm not sure how well they will sell on there.

I have it in my head that I want to try & make myself some clothes after Baby M gets here. I have found so many patterns I want to try. Luckily Joanns has all their Simplicity patterns on sale for $.99 this week. The bad thing is they will only let you buy 10. I'm going up there tomorrow with a friend, so I'm thinking I will buy 10 then, & go back Saturday & buy 10 more. I know I probably won't make most of them, but at least I have them if something comes up. I really can't afford to go buy new clothes, but hopefully I can make them & save some money. I will post pics of what I do make.

I also found a cute tutorial for making baby rompers out of tshirts, so I want to make a few for Baby M. I figure since he will be a spring baby, that will be perfect. I'm going to try & find some cute cheap shirts somewhere. If I get them done, I will post pics.

As promised, here are the pics of the onesies I customized & personalized. Thank you again to SamsterMommy for the great idea.

okay, so I really have no clue how this is going to work, but it sounded like a good idea to start a blog. I guess I should say a Little about me. I am a stay at home mother of 2 boys with another coming in April. My name is Nichole. I love doing crafts & cakes.

I have so much on my plate right now. I'm worried about my oldest son W. He has always been a very well behaved child, but as of late he has started acting out at home. Today he got on red at school. (His school does green=good, yellow=needs improvement, & red=bad day. This is done for conduct.) He is in first grade this year, & its the first time he has ever had a bad mark at school since he started pre-K. I have a friend that is going to see if she can get him to open up & talk about what is going on, so everybody keep your fingers crossed.

On to some more fun things, I have recently started my own embroidery & baby items business. I will post some pics of the onesies I made as soon as i figure out how. LOL. I got the idea from SamsterMommy's blog, but added to it a little. I'm thinking of selling them on etsy.com, but i'm not sure they will go over well. I have so much I want to make since getting my new sewing/embroidery machine this past Christmas.

I guess I'm done for the time being as I have to make W do his homework, & clean his room. Not to mention the sea of laundry & dishes that need to be done. If you are reading this, thanks for the time. If you have any suggestions for the blog, I'm more than open to them.
